Meshawn Siddiq, MPH, Doula, Hypnobirthing Educator, CLC

Executive Director and Founder

 Meshawn Siddiq is the founder of H.E.R. Institute and co-founder of NOLA BabyCafé. Committed to improving black maternal and infant health outcomes in her community, she has established herself as a leader and changemaker in New Orleans. Raised in the city, she attended Xavier University of Louisiana and earned her Master of Public Health from George Washington University. She is currently pursuing her Doctoral degree in Executive Management in Public Health. 


Rooted in her commitment to improve the health of her community Meshawn serves as the Director of Family Health and Wellbeing at the New Orleans Health and Human Services, overseeing direct care programs including WIC, Healthy Start, Healthcare for the Homeless, and Family Connects New Orleans and the Office of Youth and Families. 


Her personal experiences with childbirth and breastfeeding have shaped her commitment to Maternal and Child Health. Meshawn is a dedicated researcher and advocate in this field, and she holds certifications as a Certified Lactation Counselor, doula, and HypnoBirthing Educator.
